Carriero, Alessandro “Sandy”
January 1, 1939 – February 5, 2022
It is with great sadness that the family of Alessandro “Sandy” Carriero announces his passing to be with the Lord on February 5, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Sandy was born in Campobasso, Italy on January 1, 1939. He is predeceased by his parents, Giuseppe and Severina (Lella) Carriero and in-laws Michele and Filomena (Mandato) Vitale. Dear husband of Maria Vitale, cherished father of Michael (Kathy) Carriero, Nina (Tony) Rimac and Pino (Helene) Carriero. Adored grandpa to Michael, Olivia, Lauren (Oscar), Mena, Luke, Charley, Alex (Devan), Robert and Nicholas. Beloved brother of Antonio (Antonietta) Carriero and Angelo (Serafina) Carriero. Loving uncle to Adriana (David), Fabio, Antonella, Silvana and Pina.
Sandy immigrated to Canada in 1955 and studied to become a glazier and metal mechanic tradesman. He was a very proud Canadian who never forgot his Italian roots. Sandy lived for his family, and his love of gardening, wine making and hunting; he shared with so many the fruits of his labour. His generosity and skill lives on in all the projects he completed over the years for his family and friends. He loved music, dancing and vacationing and was most happy when sharing this with family. Sandy will be most remembered for his sweet demeanor and generous gentle soul. May he rest in peace in the loving arms of our Savior.

There will be a public visitation held at Janisse Funeral Home (1139 Ouellette Avenue) on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 from 2-5 & 7-9pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Angela Merici Parish (980 Louis Avenue) Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 11am. Reservations are required to attended both the visitation and funeral mass, and can be made by phoning (519) 253-5225.
